This module enables candidates to demonstrate their understanding of personal taxation. It covers the basic tax structure and self assessment system, as well as the calculation of the tax charge.

• When and how income tax is applied to different income
• When and how national insurance is applied to employees and self employed
• When and how capital gains tax applies to an individual’s investment gains
• The tax treatment of different investments
• When and how inheritance tax applies
